pmnews, December 24, 2025

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Tope Adebayo has revealed the emotional and personal challenges he faced while directing his brother, Femi Adebayo’s blockbuster movie Jagun Jagun.

In a candid interview, Tope Adebayo shared that his intense involvement in the project had unintended consequences on his personal life.

While speaking, the veteran actor acknowledged the immense dedication required for the production, describing how the role demanded all his energy and focus, leaving little room for self-care or attention to personal matters.

The actor revealed that he went through a lot during the production of the movie, stressing that he couldn’t do his husband duties with his wife because he was thinking about the success of the production.

He revealed that after the production and when they got back home, he lost one of his boys. Tope revealed that the boy died due to spiritual reasons after an encounter with someone from the village where the movie was shot.

“I directed Jagun Jagun 1. When we did the movie, I was so consumed by the role that my manhood stopped working, and my boy died shortly after,” he disclosed.

Tope Adebayo’s revelation has sparked conversations across Nollywood and social media about the pressures faced by actors and directors, especially in large-scale productions.
