A video currently circulating online has captured the tragic moment a female Nigerian military officer collapsed during a marching parade.
In the widely shared clip, the officer was seen actively participating in the parade alongside her colleagues as they marched forcefully from the entrance toward the front of the venue, close to the stage.
The parade was being coordinated by a commanding officer who repeatedly gave marching commands of “left-right, left-right” as the officers moved in unison.
The troops eventually came to a halt after the commander called “stop,” remaining standing at attention. Moments later, while they were still standing and before any further command was given, the female officer suddenly collapsed.
Fortunately, a male officer standing directly behind her reacted swiftly, catching her before she hit the ground and preventing a possible head or body injury. His quick response has since drawn praise from viewers online.
The incident comes at a time when Nigeria is grappling with rising security challenges, including frequent bandit attacks and increasing cases of kidnapping across states such as Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, Kogi (Lokoja axis), and Zamfara.
