Veteran Nollywood actor, Lere Paimo, also known as “Eda Onile Ola” has broken his silence after being accused of being dead.
In the early hours of today, November 29th, 2025, reports circulated online that Lere Paimo passed away at the age of 86.
However, popular Nollywood actor, Kunle Afod via his Instagram page, debunks the news and, by extension, stressed that it is fake as Baba Eda Onile Ola is still very much alive.
Also, the association’s National Public Relations Officer, Adejonwo Oluwafemi, ANTP clarified that the respected thespian, widely known as Baba Eda Onile Ola, is alive and well.
The statement read, “We would like to inform the public that reports circulating on Facebook about the passing of Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR) are false.
“We have confirmed with Baba Eda Onile Ola’s wife that he is alive and in good health.
“Please disregard these false reports and be aware that they are being spread by unscrupulous individuals.”
The association further appealed to the public to stop sharing unverified claims, stressing the need for responsible dissemination of information.
“We urge everyone to verify information before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, in a new video, Lere Paimo was seated on a chair alongside a man as the veteran debunked the news as fake.
Lere Paimo said that he is alive, healthy and not at the hospital, talkless of being sick. He said that he won’t curse those claiming that he has passed away, but to leave them all in the hands of God.
