Yoruba actor, Ebun Oloyede, popularly known as Olaiya Igwe has shared more light on why he went naked to pray for the All Progressive (APC) candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 2023 general election, Praizemedia report.
Recall that the actor, in a viral video shared on his Instagram page, was seen naked, praying for Tinubu’s victory at a beach in Lagos.
In a recently posted video on Instagram, Olaiya Igwe express regret to those who took offense at his behavior at the beach. He clarified that his actions were a result of following revelations he had received.
He has now explained that he did it because Tinubu was there for him when he was diagnosed with Nephrolithiasis (Kidney stones).
Speaking his native language, Yoruba, Olaiya revealed that he knows a lot of criticism would follow his action but he went on to do it because of the revelation.
In his words, “Because of things he has done for me, health wise and I received a revelation to pray for him at the beach, which I did. I was criticized and cursed after I did but I didn’t care.”
“I wasn’t annoyed with him(Tinubu), neither did I react negatively to him, I knew the criticism was inevitable because I am a much loved actor.”
“People who didn’t expect my actions must have been shocked, wondering why I did what I did. I know the criticism would have come from Bola Tinubu’s rival parties.”
