“Muslims in Arewa are a disgrace to Islam” Activist Aisha Yusuf cries out

In a recent turn of events, activist Aisha Yusuf has raised her voice to express her deep disappointment over a viral video showing some Muslims scavenging for leftover food. Taking to her Twitter account, she expressed her sentiments about.

She wrote that the entire Arewa community should feel ashamed of themselves for that sad situation. Aisha also stated that the Muslims in Arewa were, tarnishing the very essence of Islamic culture.

In her tweet, Aisha Yusuf made reference to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, indicating that this behavior was contrary to the way he had taught his followers.

She also called out the Mallams and Sheikhs, urging them to address and correct these actions within their community.

“The whole of Area should be ashamed of itself. The whole Muslims in Arewa are a disgrace to Islam.

This is not the population that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) asked us to give.

We all have failed Islam!

As for the Mallams and Sheikhs and what have you. Shame on you all!”

Her tweet was a response to one Mallam Jabir who had first taken to Twitter to talk about the video blaming northern politicians and Nigeria as a whole for the situation.

“Things like this made me hate Nigerian politicians more especially the northern politicians.

Look at the situation we’ve found ourselves today in this country.

These are children fighting for a plate of food left by someone in guru market, yobe state.

Things like this encourage me to join politics because we cannot continue to allow selfish and irresponsible people to keep on deceiving us.

We must act!!!”
