Nigerian actress, Buky Smart, has come under fire from fans for sharing a photo of the late actor, Murphy Afolabi, on her Instagram page, praizemedia report.
The photo showed Afolabi’s lifeless body lying on a hospital bed.
Many fans found the post to be insensitive and disrespectful to the dead, and they took to the comment section to express their anger and disappointment.

One fan wrote, “How disrespectful to post someone in their most vulnerable state…. Why is his dying picture the only thing you want the world to see? This is supposed to be private and for close family members. What about pictures and videos with beautiful memories of him? THIS IS SO DISRESPECTFUL TO THE DEAD… WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE? THAT HE’S TRULY DEAD??? VERY HYPOCRITICAL !!!”
Despite the backlash, Buky Smart has yet to take down the post or respond to the criticism.
The whole Nollywood industry thrown into mourning after the death of there colleague, popular actor and filmmaker, Murphy Afolabi.
Showbiz personality and the convener of the Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, while confirming Murphy’s death to popular newspaper, said that he fell down in the bathroom at his house in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Sunday morning, May 14, 2023.
He said, “It is true. He passed away after taking a fall in his bathroom at his house in Ikorodu this morning.”.
