Popular Nigerian influencer and activist Adetoun has criticised Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun over what she described as a poor emergency healthcare response following the road accident involving world-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua, which claimed two lives.
Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious road accident on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Makun, Ogun State. Eyewitnesses reported that the crash occurred around 11 a.m. along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Danco Filling Station, before the Sagamu Interchange.
Joshua was said to be travelling in a Lexus SUV when the vehicle reportedly collided with a stationary truck. Two of his close friends, identified as Latz and Sina, who were seated in the front, died on the spot.
Videos that later surfaced online showed the absence of an ambulance or an emergency toll-free line at the scene. Instead, a police truck was reportedly used to convey Anthony Joshua to a hospital for treatment.
Reacting in a viral video, Adetoun condemned the state’s emergency response system, alleging that Ogun State lacks functional ambulances and often relies on neighbouring Lagos State during health emergencies. She also accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of neglecting his responsibilities, claiming he was out of the country at the time of the incident.
Her comments have sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians joining the conversation on the state of emergency healthcare services in Ogun State and the broader issue of public safety infrastructure.
