Afrobeats superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the official opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), joining a star-studded lineup that includes French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z and Lartiste.
The announcement was made on Thursday, December 18, 2025, by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of activities marking the kickoff of Africa’s biggest football tournament. According to CAF, the concert will hold on Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, running from 6:00 pm to midnight local time.
The event will be open to fans, with free entry granted to holders of Fan IDs and match tickets, offering an exciting curtain-raiser ahead of the tournament’s opening matches.
Davido’s inclusion further cements his reputation as a regular performer at major global sporting events. Earlier in the year, the Grammy-nominated singer performed at Nigeria’s National Sports Festival in Abeokuta. He has also previously entertained fans at the 2017 AFCON opening ceremony, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
Other artistes that will be performing alongside Davido include Moroccan-American rapper, French Montana, Lartiste, Douaa Lahyaoui and Says’Z.
