‘Best reconciliation 2025’: K1 De Ultimate reunites with his drummer Ayankunle Ayanlowo as they perform on stage together (Video)

In a surprising turn of events, K1 De Ultimate has officially reconciled with his former drummer, Ayankunle Ayanlowo.

A reunion many thought was still far off has happened sooner than expected.

Recall that in a viral video Ayanlowo claims he spent 32 years working under Kwam1 and yet “achieved nothing.” He says he lived in constant fear during his time in the band, despite the public image of success and glamour.

He alleged that band members were treated like “slaves.” Among his accusations: passports were confiscated whenever they travelled; this restriction curtailed their freedom of movement.

Ayankunle noted that on one occasion when he was en route to the hospital for treatment of a longstanding ulcer, Ayanlowo claims he met Kwam1, who ordered him to get out of the car and return home — effectively denying him urgent medical care.

However, Kwam1 has denied the allegations. He described Ayanlowo’s claims as “lies and misinformation,” accusing him of being ungrateful and trying to tarnish a reputation built over decades.

In his response, he maintained that he had supported Ayanlowo from when he was “a nobody.” He urged the public and fans to disassociate from “liars” seeking attention or wealth at his expense.

Kwam1 also rejected the idea that band members were treated as slaves, claiming that some former collaborators are prosperous today due to the opportunities the band provided.

Because of the serious accusations and public interest, traditional rulers and community leaders have intervened, calling for peaceful reconciliation between the two men.

There are also renewed calls for authorities to protect former band members who speak out — especially after Ayanlowo claimed to have been harassed, his phone destroyed, and his life threatened.

Sharing the video of K1 De Ultimate hailing Ayankunle Ayanlowo as he makes a return to his band while performing on stage, a Facebook blogger tagged it “Best reconciliation of 2025.”
