‘This December go too sweet’: Wizkid and Asake announce release date for joint EP (Video)

pmnews, December 6, 2025December 6, 2025

Afrobeats superstars Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid and Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake have sparked excitement among fans after announcing the release date for their collaborative extended play, Real Vol. 1.

The announcement was made during their Apple Music Radio takeover interview, shared via the platform’s X page on Friday, December 5, 2025. Wizkid, 35, disclosed that the project will drop later this month.

“Special announcement: 2025, clear road. Mr Money and Big Wiz—our project is called Real, and it will be released this December for the people. Do you understand? One time, Vol. 1,” the Ojuelegba singer said.

Fueling anticipation, Nigerian-American DJ Michael “DJ Tunez” Adeyinka shared a snippet from one of the tracks on his X page. The song, titled “Jogodo,” highlights both artistes’ lyrical finesse. Asake delivers smooth Yoruba vocals that glide effortlessly over the beat, staying true to the style that has defined his hit records.

Wizkid follows with a standout line referencing the title, noting they are “trying to kill him with alcohol (ogogoro).”

Although Real Vol. 1 marks their first joint EP, it is not their first collaboration. As earlier reported by Intel Region, Asake previously featured Wizkid on “MMS,” released on October 5, 2024, off Asake’s third studio album, Lungu Boy. The track stood out on the 13-song project, which boasts features from Travis Scott, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmilla, blending Afrobeats with global sounds.

In addition, Wizkid featured Asake on “Bad Girl” from his sixth studio album, Morayo, which emerged as the most-streamed album of 2025 on Spotify. The duo also appeared together on “Getting Paid,” a track by renowned Nigerian producer Sarz, further cementing their growing creative partnership.
