A video of a Yoruba woman riding on a commercial motorcycle with a Hausa man (popularly called Aboki) at night has surfaced online, sparking widespread reactions on social media.
The viral clip shows the lady, identified as Oyin355 on TikTok, singing a Hausa song while seated on the rider’s bike along a quiet, deserted road late at night.
Her reaction has been linked by many viewers to growing insecurity across Nigeria, amid recurring reports of kidnappings and killings by bandits in different parts of the country.
In recent weeks, several states—including Kwara, Kebbi, Niger, Kogi, and even Ogun—have recorded repeated attacks, heightening public fear.
According to online speculation that bandits may be more lenient toward people who speak their language, the visibly nervous Yoruba lady sings in Hausa as a way of calming herself until she safely got home.
Unsurprisingly, the video has triggered mixed reactions online, with many users finding the moment unexpectedly funny and bursting into laughter over her improvised coping strategy.
