Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has directed the Accountant General to immediately commence the payment of the 13th-month Ember salary to the state’s workers before Christmas.
According to the governor, the move is part of the measure to allow the workers to celebrate Christmas with ease.
Eno took to his Facebook page and wrote,
“I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month December salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease.
Happy New Month.”
Eno is the first governor to direct the payment of the 13th-month salary for workers before Christmas in 2025.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Okpebholo of Edo State both paid the 13th-month salary for workers last year. Additionally, Governor Dauda Lawal and Alex Otti of Abia also fulfilled their promises to pay the 13th-month salaries to workers in their states.
