Popular Nollywood actress, Iniobong Edo Ekim, popularly known as Ini Edo, has spoken out about how she regrets her marriage.
In a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, the award-winning actress and film producer said that she regrets walking down the aisle.
Keep in mind that Ini Edo got married to American-based businessman, Philip Ehiagwina, on November 29, 2008, but the marriage lasted only five years and they eventually divorced in 2013.
When asked why she regrets settling down, the popular Nollywood actress and mother of one admitted that she was forced to get married to a man she does not love and she also believes it wasn’t the right decision at that time.
“I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t the right move to make,” She said.
However, she did note that she would give marriage another chance “If The Right Person Comes Along”
Commenting on her decision to welcome her baby through surrogacy, Ini Edo explained, “I chose surrogacy because I had experienced several miscarriages, and I simply got tired of trying.
“I don’t have a husband, so I thought, why not have a child for myself, whether I have a husband or not? What other options do I have? And I wanted the child to be biologically mine. Thankfully, my eggs are viable, so I went ahead with it.”
